Dr. Sha Huang is an artist, poet, art-based life coach, and professor whose work bridges language, culture, and healing through creative expression.As Associate Professor of Asian Studies and Chinese at Kennesaw State University, she teaches courses on language and cultures, while also exploring how art and storytelling can foster resilience and empathy across cultures.Her poetry and paintings have been exhibited and published internationally, earning recognition such as Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominations and the “Very Influential Artist” Award from Tranquility Fine Arts Gallery.Through Quiet Water Studio, Dr. Huang brings together her creative and scholarly paths, offering expressive arts workshops and community programs that integrate painting, poetry, and reflective writing.She believes that art has the quiet power to help us listen, to heal, and to rediscover balance in the flow of everyday life.

Inner Seasons is a 55-card deck designed to support daily mindfulness, emotional awareness, and creative inspiration through nature-based artwork, seasonal words, and simple practices.There is no single “right” way to use these cards. Let them meet you where you are.

How to BeginChoose a quiet moment. Take one slow breath.
Then begin in one of these simple ways:Draw one card (any type), or
Draw two cards (Art + Word), or
Draw three cards (Art + Word + Activity)If you’re using the deck while feeling tender or overwhelmed, start with one card only.
Individual Use1) Daily One-Card PracticeBest for: busy days, morning grounding, gentle guidanceShuffle and draw one card (any type).
Sit with it for 20–60 seconds.
Ask:
What is this card telling me?
Based on the message, what shall I do at present?Optional: write one sentence, sketch one shape, or simply carry the card with you.
2) Art + Word PairingBest for: reflection, journaling, emotional clarityDraw one Art Card. Notice what you see first.
Draw one Word Card and place it beside the image.
Ask:
How does the word and image communciate with each other
What messages I receive from them?Optional journal prompt:
“Today, my inner season feels like…”
3) Seasonal Check-InBest for: transitions, fatigue, uncertainty, growth cyclesDraw one Word Card and ask: What season am I in right now—inside?
Draw one Art Card and ask: What is this season showing me?Optional closing line:
“What I need most in this season is…”

4) Activity Card as a Micro-PracticeBest for: anxiety, overthinking, regulation, sleep ritualsDraw one Activity Card.
Do the practice once—slowly and gently.

5) Three-Card Flow

Art Card — What is present?
Word Card — What quality is asking to be named?
Activity Card — What is one gentle next step?Take your time. The goal is not to “solve” anything—only to listen.
6) Creative SparkBest for: writing, painting, poetry, movement, idea generationDraw one Art Card.
Set a timer for 7–12 minutes.
Respond in any form:

a short poem
a small painting
a simple movement sequence
a collage or doodlePrompt (optional):

Group UseA short guide for workshops, classrooms, and circles.Quick Group Options
1) Arrival Round (2–5 minutes)Each person draws one Art Card.
Share one setence or one word: “I feel this card is telling me...” (or pass).2) Pair Share (5–10 minutes)Each person draws one Word Card and answers:
“What does this word mean to me?Where does this word show up in my life right now?”
Partner listens and can ask further further questions.3) Group Practice (3–7 minutes)Facilitator draws one Activity Card and guides everyone through it.
Close with one breath together.
